This afternoon I visited a photographic exhibition in Bere Regis in their Drax Hall. There were loads of people there looking at the old photographs of the village, watching old videos of drama performances, old photograph albums and slide shows of old photos. Anyway it gave me some ideas about the display we want to put on in our village hall this coming autumn as part of our "Memories around Winfrith" project. I had a cup of tea and a rather nice slice of chocolate cake and I broght back a coffee and walnut sponge for John. However I have a feeling that he doesn't really like coffee cake, certainly he doesn't like coffee creams, so maybe I'll delay the diet until the cake is eaten....
Jessica went home this afternoon on the train, hopefully there won't be too many delays or engineering works. It was lovely to see her and although she had to do some studying we had time for a good few chats and I appreciated her help with the house!
The sun has come out so I'm off to have a little potter in the garden.

Easter Sunday
Daughter came home for the weekend and managed to set me up again on my blog so I have another gin and tonic and off we go!
The simplest things set you back on the computer but gradually I am getting better at controlling it.
This Easter weekend started on Thursday for us when we went down to Cornwall to open up our caravan in North Cornwall for the season. We can use it from Easter or 1st April whichever is sooner until the end of October. As we have a booking in a few weeks time it was very necessary to go down and see what it was like despite the awful weather. Luckily all was in order apart from loads of flies which happens every winter. Friends from Winfrith who also have a caravan there joined us for a fish and chip supper and we had a good time catching up with all the news. The weather was apalling and as Jessica was travelling down to see us on Saturday we set off home in the poring rain.
We visited Axminster Carpets to see what sort of carpets they have and Su, if you are reading this they have big bags of wool for about £4. I'll find out if they might be suitable for "felting" a new interest of yours!
